With influences ranging from Bob Dylan to the Fleet Foxes, Coventry based folk band The Fallows have crafted an indulgent slice of summery folk pop cake.
The record, which blends the essence of Celtic folk, rock and pop takes you in to another world of summer nights and parties in woodland glades, a midsummer night’s dream and hazy days. The gravelly quality of singer Ross Darby wraps itself around lyrics of life, love and folk traditions set to a background of impressive instrumentalism.
Formed in 2010 the band have steadily been gaining a reputation across the UK and Ireland, performing at festivals up and down the country and attracting a loyal fan base along the way. Highlights include hosting their own ‘The Fallows’ stage at the Godiva festival in their hometown of Coventry in 2011 and gaining support from BBC Introducing West Midlands.
Described as 'Frank Turner meets the Magic Numbers joined by The Avett Brothers' The Fallows are now set to release their debut album ‘Face The Wolves’.
A summer filled with gigs and festival appearances will allow more to hear their brand of 'folk with a refreshing side order of thinly sliced rock, all served on a bed of acoustic delight'. Coventry Telegraph.
With an exciting summer ahead the four piece, (Darby, joined by Pete Rutherford, Sam Stoakes and Neal Pointon) are ready for the next step. A genuinely invigorating live set, The Fallows are not to be missed.
