Sharon Osbourne and Susan Boyle paid their respects to Scottish singer Kerry McGregor by sending tributes to her funeral on Tuesday (10Jan12).
The X Factor contestant became an overnight success in Britain as she competed against the talent show's eventual 2006 winner Leona Lewis.
She was preparing to perform a duet with fellow Scot Boyle later this year (12) when she died last week (03Jan12) after losing her battle with bladder cancer.
Osbourne, who mentored McGregor on The X Factor, was among the first to remember McGregor following her death, stating on Twitter.com, "So sad about Kerry McGregor's passing. Much love and respect to her and her family."
And to mark McGregor's funeral in Mid Calder, Scotland on Tuesday, the TV star and rock matriarch sent a floral tribute. The accompanying message read, "Kerry, rest in peace, with love, Sharon Osbourne."
Boyle also sent a note, which sat beside the coffin and read: "Kerry and her voice now have 'wings to fly'. Love Susan Boyle."
