Janet Jackson is cutting short her tour of Australia to be with her family during the ongoing trial of her late brother Michael's doctor.
The singer is postponing dates on the Aussie leg of her Number Ones tour so she can be with the Jackson clan as Dr. Conrad Murray is tried for involuntary manslaughter in Los Angeles.
In a statement to the Associated Press, she explains: "When I planned these shows, the schedule in California was completely different. After talking with my family last night, I decided we must be together right now... This saddens me in so many ways."
Jackson is pulling out of three concerts in Melbourne this week and will make them up with one performance on 3 November.
Murray stands accused of involuntary manslaughter amid accusations he administered the fatal dose of anesthetic Propofol which resulted in the Thriller icon's death in 2009. He has denied the charge.
