Bob Crawford, the bass player for country trio The Avett Brothers, has announced he's taking a break from the band to care for his sick daughter.
Little Hallie Crawford suffered a seizure in August and fell into a coma. She has since been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
In a post on the band's website, the bassist explains his decision to take a hiatus, revealing his 22-month-old daughter is suffering from a very rare "but deadly" condition, and she has undergone two brain surgeries in a month.
He writes: "When people ask us what they can do to help, we ask them to pray for Hallie's recovery. We feel that God has already worked miracles through Hallie, and we pray they keep coming."
The Avett Brothers have drafted in a new bass player to temporarily replace Crawford on tour.
