How did you get your start in music?

I got my start of music when I was like nine or ten years old. I was hanging wit my big cousin and his homies and all they did was freestyle to instrumentals and it rubbed off on me and before you know it I grabbed the pen and the pad. I didn’t know how to count bars so I was writing like 56 bars a verse I think that helped me become a better writer today.

Was this the only thing you wanted to pursue?

Yes because when I was in school the only reason I had bad grades was because I didn’t get any work done I was too busy writing lyrics I use to carry a notebook with me at all times so if I thought of something I could write it down it didn’t matter were I was.

Who inspires you today in the Hip-Hop world?

I have a few artist who inspire me today in the hip hop world Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Cassidy, Jeezy, Fabolous, and Jadakiss

Like all subjects and crafts people have to study, how have you prepared yourself for your tenure in the music industry?

I have been developed from top to bottom. From image to stage presence. I also study
At other good artist, and pay attention to what has made them better over time than other artist I think the travelling and the shows that I do in different cities just for promotion is preparing me to become a hungry and better artist for when its game time

What do you think it takes to get ahead in Hip-Hop today?

Just be original be yourself and don’t say you this and that but really ain’t which is a major problem in the hip-hop world today. You also need good music and tough skin, becasue these industry folks will tear you to peaces and suck you dry. And you also need to bring something fresh and new and create you own lane. Like I got my cityfied cuntry swagger! That’s me! Nobody else is in my lane. When you think of Young G.O, you think of cityified country swagg! What I do, what I drink, what I wear, how I hustle every thing. That’s me

Hailing from the south, do you feel the pressure on you that those MCs from NYC felt during the golden era of Hip-Hop?

I respect the game and the grind! But I don’t feel any pressure because I'm a man and I will do anything possible to make sure that my family eat. There ain't no pressure like trying to feed your son in an economy where it’s impossible to get work. Especially without much education. So I grind all day and get it. That’s pressure! Killing these dudes lyrically is easy! That’s not pressure.

What do you hope people get from your music?

I hope they get the truth in every bar that I spit because it is from the heart I wont people to know were i'm from is no game and no joke! The slums of Kentucky! The last state to free the slaves

Being that you are relatively young, what do you think it is going to take for you to achieve longevity in today’s musical environment?

Age is just a number but sometimes it is the young rappers with the hottest beats or the hottest lyrics. I think of it as an advantage over older rappers because we still have time to grow and get better and wiser.

What has been the most defining moment of your career so far and why?

When I was given out autographs and fliers.  Because that was the first time I really felt like Young G.O because the fans wanted to take pictures with me and the girls were literally passing out when they got to see me in person. But real talk, I haven’t really 'really' felt it. I'll feel like I'm there when I get my momma and brothers out of the hood and that house on a hill! And I'm getting awards for my work

One album that defines Hip-Hop would be….Jay Z's album The Black Album. Classic!
