Priscilla Ahn might be tipped as one of the hottest new singers for 2009, but after we tried to get a bit of information out of her over Easter, it would seem she was more interested in cracking open the Easter eggs than letting her fans know how special she is.

Hello there pretties, how are things going in your lovely world?

Pretty good.

To anyone who hasn’t heard of you yet, how would you describe your sound?

Easy listening, mellow, folksy with a little bit of quirkiness.

Tell us a bit about the inspiration behind your foxy new album…

A lot of the songs are based off of real life experiences, or moods, or thoughts of my own. It could be about love, feelings of belonging, home, stories I've heard, escape, memories...

If you were going to give us just one song of yours to listen to so that you would become our new favourite singer, what would it be?

Dream.

If you could cover another band’s song, what would it be?

Caetano Veloso's "Leaozinho".

And can you sum up your good selves in just five words?

I am a singing girl.

What makes you stand out from the crowd?

I guess, that I don't ever really join the crowd. I like to do what I like to do, and try not to let other people pressure me into anything else, because it's the fad.

You know we’re having a bit of an economic crisis here at the moment, if people wanted to spend their last £10 on a cd this weekend, why should they buy yours?

The other day a lawyer friend of mine told me he was super stressed out, and he popped in my album to relax. I think maybe the album can chill people out.

What three bands would you have to headline your dream festival?

Radiohead, Neil Young, Pink Floyd (reunited).

What has been your favourite musical memory to date?

I played a show in Santa Barbara to an audience who didn't know my music, and after my first song, I got a really long standing ovation. I couldn't believe it!

If all of the bands equipment was on fire, what one piece would you save and why?

My guitar. It's old, and old things to me are irreplaceable. I feel like it has a good, old soul. I wouldn't want that to die.

Who do you think is the greatest artist around at the moment?

Willie Nelson. That guy can still sing and play guitar, not to mention all the great songs he's written. He's SO cool.

If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chet Baker's "Prince Of Cool: The Pacific Jazz Years (1952 - 1957)"

Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; Tell me about the most terrifying experience of your life…

Someone I loved tried to kill himself in front of me. Really messed up!

What’s the most stupid purchase you’ve ever made?

A tiny little bookshelf from a yardsale that smelled like cat pee. I never brought it in the house. It's been sitting outside for a little over a year.

Why go to the top of a tall building, only to put money in binoculars and look at things on the ground?

I never do that.
