After following the duo throughout their adventures of The Atmosphere and The Dragon, I finally caught up with The Dragon (JP Reid) to find out about better sex, drugs, rubber lovers and coming together….
Hello there pretties, how are things going in your lovely world?

To anyone who hasn’t heard of you yet, how would you describe your sound?

Tell us a bit about the inspiration behind your last single Kid Gloves (which we love)...
Thank you. Inspired by the way you feel when you’ve partied more than is necessarily good for you, when you need to be treated with kid gloves.
Also, what is the idea behind the three album ‘story’ road that Marmaduke Duke is travelling along?
The records are loosely based on a trilogy of manuscripts which are like a biography of The Duke’s life from birth to death.
And can you sum up your good selves in just five words?
Handsome, emotional, happy, excitable, hungry.
What is the significance of The Dragon and The Atmosphere?
Without them no records would have been made, or would they?
What makes you guys stand out from the crowd?
Hot pants, riding boots, tight tights, top hats and blood red lipstick.
Do you find it hard to be classed as a separate entity from Biffy Clyro since their
massive success?
Commercially, in some ways things can bleed over, but creatively never.
You know we’re having a bit of an economic crisis here at the moment, if people wanted to spend their last £10 on a CD this weekend, why should they buy yours?
Because it would help us to keep making music and having fun.
Tell me the meaning behind your band name?
It makes a nice rhythm and is a companion to the stories.
How did you both come together?
Well one night The Atmosphere imbibed a little too much navy rum and started to feel frisky so he started hitting on me and I just couldn’t resist that little twinkle in his eye and his trousers. Before I knew it we had come together.
What’s the best part of being a ‘rock star’?
Better sex, drugs and food.
What has been your favourite musical memory to date?
Beyonce’s ‘single ladies’ video.
Who do you think is the greatest artist around at the moment?
Sucioperro
If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If you had only 9 minutes to live, what would you do in those 9 minutes?
Go to sleep.
If you could take over a foreign country tomorrow, which would you take over and what would be your first law?
Any would do, I would make days 32 hours so we could do more but yet still get a good sleep.
