Gina Star is Toolroom Records’ newest hot property. The LA to London based model, DJ and producer is currently resident on the Toolroom Knights tour.

Her first Toolroom single ‘This Is Hollywood’ ft Roland Clark hit the Beatport Top 10 and stormed to #1 in their Progressive chart and Gina is determined to repeat this success with her next single ‘I Want It Now.’

1. Hello there little monster, what are you up to?

Sitting on a train into London for a meeting with a potential song collaborator, typing these answers into my Blackberry

2. So, tell me a bit about what you’re here to promote?

Well, I've got a new track out on Toolroom Records this week, its called "I Want It Now" and it uses the classic line from the Queen anthem - "I Want It All... I Want It All.... I Want It All... And I Want It Now!", which has been approved and endorsed by Queen Music as well as their label EMI. Its getting a lot of love from some big players such as David Guetta, The Swedes, DONS, Jerome Isma-Ae, Judge Jules, and Robbie Rivera to name a few.

3. And if we didn’t have any clue as to who you were, what three words sum you up?

Determined, Goofy, Music-Lover.

4. And as Jacko had the Moonwalk and Elvis had the snake hips, what do you have that makes you unique?

I think I have a very natural ear for hearing what works and what doesn't. I may not be technically amazing in the studio but I always have a clear vision for how I want the project to come out.

5. Now, clearly we need to get to know each other more, so tell me an interesting fact about you that no-one else knows?

This is not my real head, I have several spares.

6. What song do you wish you’d written?

‘Poker Face’ by Lady Gaga. It’s just so clever (and made her a fortune!)

7. If I was contemplating coming to your show or sitting at home and TV, how would you convince me to come out?

If you die tomorrow, you would really regret not getting crazy and partying on your last night. Haha, sorry I know that's kinda morbid.

8. And if you were to take me on a trip to your hometown, what would be the first place we’d go?

I'd find the nearest Chick-fil-a and treat you to the best chicken sandwich and waffle fries in the world.

(My mouth actually started watering as I wrote this answer!)

9. Who was the last person you called / text and what for?

I called my mom and made her buy a copy of my new track on Beatport. Every download makes a difference in the first few days of a release.

10. If you were a superhero, what would be your superpower?

I'd be able to teleport to anywhere in the world. It would make travelling to gigs a lot easier and more fun!

11. If you had to date a member of the same sex who would it be?

Jennifer Aniston. I heard she's looking for someone to settle down with. Although I couldn't help much with her baby mission.

12. What was the last thing you bought?

A french baguette sandwich with mozzerella and ham at the train station. And, again, my mouth is watering. I love food.

13. Have you ever been arrested?

No. Knock on wood.

14. Speaking of prison - if you were to send someone to prison for crimes against music, who would it be?

All the people who create download links for music they don't own and post them on their blog for all to steal. I can understand swapping a few tunes between mates but these links are giving away music by the thousands.

15. What were you doing last night at 11?

Watching a repeat episode of Friends (see answer 11 haha) and replying to facebook messages on my laptop in bed. Not the most exciting answer in know ;)
