Edward Shape & the Magnetic Zeros will release their second studio album ‘Here’ on 28th May via Rough Trade Records.
The album, which is the follow-up to the LA group’s 2009 debut ‘Up From Below’, was self-produced and recorded in Bogalusa, LA and in their studio in Ojai, CA.
Of the new album, frontman Alex Ebert says: "The making of this album has spanned a time of immense perseverance and, thankfully, co-creation.
Making this album has been a test of our faith in ourselves and in the universe, and brought us closer together and in greater harmony with one another...
A deluge of music has been written and recorded, and we are intensely excited to share it with anyone who wants to feel it."
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros will make an appearance with members of Mumford & Sons at the 2012 South By Southwest Film Conference and Festival on 17th March for the world premiere of Big Easy Express, the Emmett Malloy directed film that covered the bands’ journey as they traveled in vintage railcars across the American Southwest over the course of a week, playing concerts at six unique outdoor locations along the route.
The bands will subsequently join the film’s director and producers in a Q&A and will also perform an exclusive live acoustic set.
