Tigers That Talked

Tigers That Talked

After introducing you to the lovely Tigers That Talked a couple of weeks ago, and announcing the release of their debut EP "Black Heart Blue Eyes" on 8th June, the band have delivered a video for the lead track from the EP, which you can now view here on FemaleFirst.

Jamie (singer in the band) says of the video - "The video is examining the idea of what's happening beneath the surface of coastal towns, looking past the faded glamour to it's people & societies, as well as focusing on the darker sides to life by the sea. Blackpool seemed to have the perfect juxtaposition of tourist orientated 'glitz' and the more unsettling, threatening atmosphere that the song discusses.

“The idea of the band playing at the British Legion came from the director Phil wanting to give a sense of us being in the wrong place and context and capturing the uneasiness of situation. A lot of the band footage in the video was actually shot during a live set that we did in the British Legion talent show that afternoon, which was certainly one our weirdest gigs & crowds ever!

I think an octogenarian crooner with farsifa organ accompaniment called Fred was victorious, if I remember correctly. Definately a fix, we should have had it in the bag.."

Tigers That Talked were formed by singer Jamie Williams in 2006 and are based in Leeds. Their music possesses the ramshackle folk rock of The Arcade Fire and is influenced by the filmic elegance of Ennio Morricone, Sigur Ros and The Cure.  The band have released a number of self-produced DIY EPs and are currently busy recording their debut album for release on Bad Sneakers in September 2009. Their first single '23 Fears' was Steve Lamacq's record of the week and was hailed by Radio 1's Zane Lowe & Colin Murray and XFM's Jon Kennedy.
