The Blackout
Last night I was sat in my PJ's trying (and failing) to motivate myself to get ready for the Periphery gig in Manchester, when BFF's of FemaleFirst, The Blackout popped up on Zane Lowe's radio one show…
Having not heard from the delicious Sean Smith in a while, I listened to him waffling on in his usual bonkers way, and decided, okay, I'll get ready and go out and throw a few shapes about town.
As I was hurtling down the M62, Zane played the track, Higher & Higher, from the bands forthcoming album, 'Hope' - which is out April 4 - and I decided right there and then, it was my song of the week this week.
The band have stepped into a new territory with this track as they rope in rapper Hydro De Hero to bring a new sound to the band… and whilst some kids might not like their floppy-haired favourites going all 'gangsta' on them… we think they should slink back off to listening to Avril Lavinge, because this album is going to be killer!
