It's true - sex and rock 'n' roll really do go hand in hand, at least according to new research by Illicit Encounters. After they found that fans of rock music are more likely to pursue an affair.
Of the people polled, 37% male and female members cite rock music as their favorite genre of music whilst, in comparison, 20% of members like pop and R'n'B, 19% favor dance music and 17% are fans of blues and jazz. The least represented genre is 'Christian/Gospel music', with only 3% of members citing it as a favourite type of music.
"This shouldn't come as a surprise, really." says Sarah Hartley, "Rock music has been associated with sex since the 50's. Lots of prominent rock stars - Mick Jagger, Debbie Harry - oozed sex appeal."
"Many of our members in in their late 30's/early 40's, so would have grown up listening to pioneering bands like Aerosmith, Blondie, AC/DC and Fleetwood Mac. This may explain why so many of them are rock music fans."
Illicit Encounters has been running since 2003, and is now the UK's most popular extra-marital dating site. This survey of members was conducted internally in late May this year.
