French Horn Rebellion

French Horn Rebellion

French Horn Rebellion are Robert and David Perlick-Molinari; two brothers born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. With the release of their debut UK single “Up All Night”, they are now preparing to bring their mischievous mix of electronic, rock and dance to the UK with the help of up-and-coming indie Once Upon A Time Records.

In 2007, younger brother Robert, an accomplished French horn player, found himself as principal horn chair of the prestigious Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra. Standing at a crossroads, and fundamentally frustrated by the demands of mastering such an instrument (that he knew would never allow him to fully express himself), he finally asked his brother David to rebel with him, and together they embarked on a life-long creative journey.

Having set up shop in the arts/music hub of Brooklyn, it wasn’t long before FHR started to impact on the NY music scene, with David co-producing and engineering MGMT’s original “Time to Pretend EP”, and the brothers throwing and DJing at “Brass Magic”, one of the best underground monthly parties in New York City.

FHR’s music perfectly reflects their on-going international adventures which have seen them play shows in France and Belgium, as well as the US, Brazil and Canada (taking their “Brass Magic” party with them), appear at SXSW, CMJ and NXNE and perform with the likes of Cool Kids and The Twelves along the way. At SXSW, they were featured on mtvU's "Ahead of the Curve," and have recently been selected for MySpace Records’ Young Artists Development Program.

Moreover, with new track and recent Hype Machine No.1 “Beaches and Friends” ready to follow “Up All Night” and a debut album close to completion the French Horn Rebellion European journey is only just beginning and you can expect the band to arrive on these shores in September. In the mean time, “Up All Night” has already cast its spell on Graham Linehan, writer of the IT Crowd and one time director of Little Britain, who recently Tweeted “Today's the day, folks. Blog it, tweet it, share it any way you can... Let's make French Horn Rebellion famous by nightfall!” How long can you resist?
