Lady GaGa

Rihanna and Eminem-Love The Way You Lie

Not only did this single bring together two of music’s best loved artists of 2010, it seemed like the ideal song for Rihanna to vent her feelings after a rocky year in her love life. The song made it to number one in 23 charts.

Jason Derulo- Ridin’ Solo

This was undoubtedly the anthem for single people this year, everyone who was single loved it, and it made everyone who wasn’t wish they were. The upbeat lyrics, such as ‘feeling like a star you can’t stop me shine’, are enough to make anyone grin on the dance floor.

Owl City-Fireflies

In January 2010 the American artist Adam Young made it to number one in the UK singles chart with his debut single Fireflies. Relient K vocalist Matt Thiessen also featured on the track as a guest vocalist.

Lady GaGa-Telephone

As if Lady GaGa wasn’t enough, this song also features Beyonce, it could be said that they were an unlikely duo, but they pulled it off well. The video, which is shot in a prison, shows Beyonce bailing GaGa out. It may seem like a strange video, but when does GaGa ever do anything remotely normal.

Katy Perry- California Gurls

Originally recorded by The Beach Boys in 1965 Katy Perry released her version of California Gurls this year along with rap legend Snoop Dog. The music video is like an Alice in Wonderland dream world with Katy lying amongst the clouds.

Example-Won’t Go Quietly

Example, real name Elliot John Greaves, chose his stage name due to his initials being E.G, the common abbreviation of the word example. After years of pursuing a music career Example finally stepped into the lime light in 2009 and received his first UK top ten with Won’t Go Quietly in January 2010.

The Wanted- All Time Low

When The Wanted burst onto our screens in August they were like a breath of boy band fresh air. With 2010 being the year of the comebacks it was good to see the new guys do well too. All Time Low was their debut single and flew straight into the UK chart at number one.

Cee Lo Green- F**k You

This upbeat song somewhat contrasts the title, but it’s been a huge hit this year and never fails to get you singing along. With a quirky video set in a 60’s diner to go along with it, it’s fair to say that this song will stick around for a while.

B.O.B- Airplanes

At only twenty-two years old B.O.B, Bobby Ray Simmons, has had two UK number ones, as well as number one and two in the U.S. Airplanes, which talks about life outside the rap world, was his second single and also features Hayley Williams of Paramore.

Yolanda Be Cool-We No Speak Americano

We No Speak Americano was undoubtedly the 2010 summer anthem playing everywhere around Europe and America. The track is a dance version of an Italian song from the 1950’s, but despite being in Italian the song is extremely catchy and there’s no doubt you’ll try your best to sing along.
