After a phenomenal 2009 including some live dates across the UK and selling over 2 million records world wide, The Priests return with a 2010 UK Tour in May and June and will now be joined by rising star and very special guest; Camilla Kerslake.
The Priests have defied record industry convention by just being themselves; middle-aged Roman Catholic priests who sing. Selling over two million records worldwide to date, a dream story of world class talent wrapped up in an amazing true story spanning a turbulent lifetime of service, faith and music, with no stunts, no stylists, no make-up, no image and no audio trickery.
The Priests have taken the world by storm. Why the success? They simply sing and they sing with belief. The Priests’ brand new album, ‘Harmony’, is available now! The stunning new album features The Priests singing some all-time classics in their own unique way. Father David says of the new album: “It seems to be bigger, bolder, and more confident. There are some very powerful classical pieces on it.”
Meanwhile Camilla Kerslake’s exciting future holds no limits. The 21-year-old rising star is signed to Gary Barlow’s new Future Records label and she recently topped Classical Album Chart with her self titled debut album in its first week of release. For the first time in five years an unknown artist has shot straight to the top of the classical album chart, the last person to do so was Katherine Jenkins.
The breathtaking 12-track album was produced by Mike Hedges (who also produced The Priests and Dido) and her stunning take of ‘Rule The World’ in Italian has a studio video posted on YouTube and received a staggering 92,000 views in just a few weeks. Camilla Kerslake has a quite extraordinary vocal gift and here and now begins what should be a remarkable career.
