Pearl Jam

Hard Rock International and Live Nation announced today that PEARL JAM will be headlining HARD ROCK CALLING 2010 at Hyde Park, London on Friday 25 June. Seattle’s own Pearl Jam will rock the stage on the opening night of the much-anticipated three-day concert festival.

Earlier this year, the sold-out Hard Rock Calling festival featured stellar performances by headliners Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Neil Young and The Killers, supported by more than a dozen top acts, such as Dave Mathews Band, The Pretenders, The Gaslight Anthem and more.

Main support for Friday will be announced at a later date, as well as additional big-name acts and a full supporting line-up for the rest of the weekend.  Following the success of this year’s concert festival, Hard Rock Calling 2010 will once again be staged over three consecutive nights, starting on Friday 25 June, and will feature the very best and hottest artists touring the world.

Pearl Jam recently toured North America, Australia and New Zealand in support of their ninth studio album, Backspacer.  Released on September 20th, the album debuted at Number One on the Billboard music chart. Pearl Jam – Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron – have also recently announced a series of upcoming European concert dates.

“We are thrilled to add Pearl Jam to our Ambassadors of Rock Tour lineup and continue Hard Rock’s tradition of top acts rocking Hyde Park,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International.  “For nearly two decades, not only has Pearl Jam been one of the world’s top bands, but they have also actively shown their support for several philanthropic causes.”

Toby Leighton-Pope Vice President of Promotions at Live Nation comments on the announcement of Pearl Jam, "We are very excited to bring the festival back for its fifth year.  Pearl Jam is a great addition to the phenomenal acts we've had play at Hard Rock Calling.”

Now in its fifth consecutive year, Hard Rock Calling has fully established itself as one of the UK’s premier outdoor music events. Past acts have included Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, The Who, Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters and The Police, who created what is now identified as the “must see” concert event on the UK festival circuit.

Hard Rock Calling, produced by Live Nation and presented by Hard Rock International, is a unique and historic musical event with a main stage, second stage and many surprises in store for fans of all ages. In addition to renowned bands and an on-site Hard Rock Cafe, the festival will include a variety of attractions to be announced at a later date.
