Fusing elements of Crystal Waters and the Beastie Boys with a funked up house groove and a sharp urban edge, âAnother Dimensionâ is all set to kick off 2009 with a speaker-blowing bangâ¦
Already receiving support from the likes of Pete Tong, Judge Jules and Scott Mills on Radio 1, Footloose and MistaJam on 1Xtra, Steve Smart and DânâB maestro Gerard on KISS, Sarah Main and David Dunne on Galaxy, there is no doubt that love for âAnother Dimensionâ is cutting a swathe through DJs and genres. Timmy Vegas and Bad Lay-Dee are walking a perfect line between cred and crowd pleaser.
Timmy Vegas is a man with serious house music credentials, alongside poker playing skills that could empty your wallet faster than a round of drinks in Ibiza! As one half of Soul Central he crashed into the Top 10 at #6 with the anthem âStrings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)â. His productions have been snapped up by some of the worldâs best house music labels and his musical skills saw him tour as guitarist / keyboard player for Led Zeppelin legend Robert Plant.
Based in Birmingham it wasnât long before Timmy came across the vocal talents of self styled urban fashionista, Bad Lay-Dee. This multi-talented MC and vocalist has been dropping the vox and rocking the socks off crowds at some of the roughest and toughest underground nights in the city, including Rainbow Warehouse and SLAG.
However as she says, âIâm the most versatile vocalist I know. I can spit dirty lyrics or sing a sweet love song. Just give me a beat and Iâll write you a rhyme.â Should you doubt the name, her trainer obsession (over 200 pairs and counting) and her Thai kick boxing skills will quickly persuade you her credentials are for real. Now, linking up with Timmy Vegas, Bad Lay-Dee is ready to step up to the spotlight.
Eye Industries deliver a huge drum ânâ bass remix from Danny Byrd alongside a cool house remix from Tom Novy to make this an unmissable release.
