Kathryn Bigelow is set to return to the director's with The True American.
The True American will see the Oscar winner team up with Annapurna Pictures to bring the book to the big screen.
The non-fiction book is by New York Times journalist Anand Giridharadas, and is set in the aftermath of 9/11.
Bigelow is set to produce the film as well as direct, and The True American will be her first film since the success of Zero Dark Thirty.
Tom Hardy is already on board the project. While his role has not officially been announced, he is expected to take on the central role of Mark Stroman.
The story follow Mark Stroman, a 'self styled' American terrorist who sought revenge for the 9/11 attacks.
Hardy has already completed work on Child 44, London Road and Mad Max: Fury Road.
Rocketman and Legend are the other two projects that he has in the pipeline. Rocketman will see him play Elton John, while Legend will see him take on the roles of Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
