Joseph Gordon Levitt will star in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
The actor has been linked to the third movie in the Batman franchise form many months but now he has officially joined the ever growing cast list.
The movie would see him reunite with his Inception director Nolan and co-star Tom Hardy.
While there has been much speculation as to what role he will play, some rumours even suggesting Robin, but it is believed that he will take on the part of Alberto Falcone - also know as The Holiday Killer.
Juno Temple has also joined the cast.
The Dark Knight Rises sees Christian Bale return to the role of Bruce Wayne while Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman are also back as Alfred, Lucius Fox and Jim Gordon.
But there are also new faces on the cast list as Anne Hathaway has been cast as Catwoman and Tom Hardy will take on the role of Bane.
Filming is due to get underway and the movie is scheduled for a July 2012 release.
