Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has revealed that the Dark Shadows movie will go ahead and filming is expected to get underway sometime next year.

The project will see the actor collaborate with director Tim Burton on their eighth movie together.

In an interview with Collider the actor said: "Dark Shadows is happening. Tim is working on Alice In Wonderland which is obviously quite a large piece of work there.

"So when Tim is done with Alice and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we’ll probably attack it next year."

Their last collaboration, Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, saw Depp receive a best Actor Oscar nomination and the pair have worked together on Alice on Wonderland, which is released next year.

Depp will take on the role of vampire of Barnabas Collins in the big screen adaptation of the sixties soap opera and he admitted that it was 'a lifelong dream' to take on the part.

"It’s exciting, very exciting... I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six."

Depp will be gracing the big screen again next week with Public Enemies in which he plays infamous bank robber John Dillinger.
