Guy Pearce has heaped praise on co-star Tom Hardy calling him one of the most 'exciting' actors he has worked with.
The pair team up for the John Hillcoat directed movie Lawless - which is a big screen adaptation of the novel The Wettest County In The World.
Pearce is set to play a Special Agent in the prohibition era drama who is trying to bring down the Bondurant brothers.
And Pearce had nothing but glowing words about working with Hardy and the Brit as an actor.
Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "It's so brilliant that Tom Hardy is playing the role, because he is the most exciting actor I've seen in a long time. He is just extraordinary.
"[Hardy] brings a weight, an integrity and a power to the screen that is incredibly compelling - and I have to go up against this guy.
"The first scene that we had together was me feeling like I'm running rings around this man, not being intimidated by him.
"And that was very difficult, because he's like a mountain, a mount emotionally and physically.
"I think that will translate on screen and people will really see the power of [Hardy's character] Forrest Bondurant."
Pearce and Hardy are joined on the cast list by Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain.
Lawless is released 7th September.
