Justin Hardy is back in the director's chair this week with his new film Love Me Till Monday. Hardy is best known for his work in TV, and his is his first feature film since his debut back in 1995.
Love Me Till Monday follows the story of an English girl trying to find love between the office and her home life.
There have been a whole host of British indie films floating around this summer, and it is great that fans of this genre have had so much to choose from over the last few weeks.
So many movies look at the glitz and glamour of dating and being in a relationship, but Hardy has decided to add a touch or realism with Love Me Till Monday.
This movie looks at the rather mundane and drab side to finding a partner - everyone has had an embarrassing moment on a drunken night out.
When it comes to relationships, there is something everyone can relate to here, it is not all roses and chocolates as Hollywood would have us believe.
Georgia Maguire takes on the central role of Becky, and this marks her first foray into film: she has in TV on the likes of 6Degrees and Pete Versus Life.
Maguire does have a presence to her when she is on screen, and you do find yourself rooting for her. It is her performance that really does carry this film.
Maguire may be relatively inexperienced when it comes to film, but she handles the comedy and romance elements well. I am looking forward to seeing her back on the big screen in future film projects.
However, Becky is really the only well-developed characters as everyone else is just a little one dimensional and uninteresting.
I understand that Hardy is trying to depict an honest and real image of relationships of the twenty-something’s, but he doesn't quite pull it off.
Love Me Till Monday is out now.
