The Artist was the big winner at last night's Baftas as it waltzed away with six songs, including Best Film.
The movie is now in a strong position with the Oscars being just two weeks away.
Best Film was the only major gong that it picked up as Jean Dujardin won Best Actor and Michel Hazanavicius won Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
There were few surprises in the acting categories as Meryl Streep took Best Actress for her role in The Iron Lady.
Octavia Spencer and Christopher Plummer also added to their Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild wins for Best Supporting Actress and Actor.
Their performances in The Help and Beginners will start as favourite when the Oscars get underway on 27th.
And while Gary Oldman was over looked in the Best Actor category there was some success for Tinker Tailor Solider spy as it walked away with Outstanding British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Paddy Considine also had cause to celebrate as his movie Tyrannosaur won Outstanding debt as he moved behind the camera for the first time.
Senna has been outrageously overlooked in the documentary category at the Oscars but it won in that category last night.
Rango's award success continued as it scooped another Best Animation prize - and could well win the Oscar.
The Rising Star Award, which is the only award voted for by the public, was won by Adam Deacon.
He saw off competition from Eddie Redmayne, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Chris O'Dowd and joins an illustrious group of recipients that includes Tom Hardy, Kristen Stewart, Noel Clarke, Shia LaBeouf and Eva Green.
