Jamie Foxx In Django Unchained

Jamie Foxx In Django Unchained

It has been three years since Quentin Tarantino enjoyed mammoth success with his war movie Inglourious Basterds.

And while we haven't heard a peep out of him in that time he is now currently working on his new movie Django Unchained, which is due out in January of next year.

While filming on the movie may still be underway we have some new images from the film for you to take a look at.

Tarantino has always had a knack for bringing great ensemble casts together - Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds are just three perfect examples - and he has done it again.

Yes the best and brightest talent in Hollywood have all come together to make this movie an incredibly exciting prospect.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx will lead the cast as Django while he is joined by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kerry Washington.

But no Tarantino movie would be complete without some familiar faces and Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz are working with the filmmaker once more.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War the movie follows Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz).

Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty.  The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles - dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways.  Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side.  Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of 'Candyland,' an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport.

Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave.  Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them.

If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival...

Django Unchained is released 13th January.
