Shailene Woodley hates having her photos retouched.
The 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' actress tries to always look natural and was inspired to wear as little make-up as possible to red carpet events after seeing a heavily Photoshopped image of herself in a magazine.
She recalled: "I had big red lips ... boobs about three times the size they are in real life. My stomach was completely flat. My skin was also flawless.
"But the reality is that I do not have those lips and my skin is not flawless and I do have a little bit of a stomach. It was not a proper representation of who I am ... I just want to be me."
However, the 22-year-old starlet hasn't always dared to go bare-faced as she used to have self-confidence issues about her looks and her weight when she was a teenager.
Asked what she would tell her 15-year-old self, she told Interview magazine: "I was afraid I was too skinny. I also didn't have a lot of self-confidence. I projected a lot of confidence ... But on the inside, I was very mean to myself.
"So I would definitely say to myself at that age, 'You're worthy. You're beautiful.' "
