Alexander Wang's Balenciaga replacement is rumoured to be the head of Vetements, Demna Gvasalia.
The 31-year-old fashion designer put on his last show for the elite label at Paris Fashion Week last Friday (02.10.15) and leading the list of designer's eyed up to take over, include the creative director for Japanese label Sacai, Chitose Abe and the head of Vetements Demna Gvasalia, who might have already been "confirmed" for the job, according to a source.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "The most left-field name is the one at Vetements, but some say he's already confirmed."
Other contenders include, lead McQ designer Alistair Carr and Paco Rabanne's creative director Julien Dossena, who have both worked for Balenciaga in the past under Nicolas Ghesquière.
At Balenciaga's final catwalk with Wang under the wing, he previously said of the Spring/Summer 2016 collection: "Balenciaga is a house known for innovation and I wanted to look at simple, humble cloth, and the craft of artisans."
And he shared how "grateful" he was to have the chance to work for the brand and that he can't wait for his "next chapter".
He commented: "I am very grateful for the opportunity and I'm excited for the next chapter."
However, he gave no hints as to who is predecessor will be.
