Set to launch in just over a month’s time, the long-awaited next instalment in WWE’s 2K Games series may be exactly what the fans were hoping for, if the newly-released gameplay trailer for WWE 2K22 is anything to go by.
With a completely redesigned gameplay engine, players will experience gorgeous new animations alongside highly in-demand game modes such as MyGM (My General Manager), in what will surely be the most realistic addition to the genre’s history.
Other game modes include the returning 2K Showcase - which will this year focus on cover star Rey Mysterio's career - along with MyRISE where players chart their own path and of course, a revitalised Universe Mode and upgraded Creation Suite.
The franchise-first MyFACTION will have a lot of fans excited as players can collect and manage their dream stables, with weekly events, regular updates and tough challenges, offering immense replay value.
“Representing the culture of lucha libre as the cover Superstar for WWE 2K22 is a moment of great pride for me,” said Rey Mysterio. “I’m looking forward to sharing the stories behind the big moments of my career with a dedicated community of players and connecting with WWE fans in a whole new way as they play through my 2K Showcase.”
WWE 2K22 Standard Edition and Cross-Gen Bundle is available from March 11th, 2022. The WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition and nWo 4-Life Digital Edition are available three days earlier, on March 8th, 2022.
