Kristen Bell wants to make sure her children "pay attention" to their bodies.
The 37-year-old actress has daughters Lincoln, four, and Delta, two, with her husband Dax Shepard, and believes it is important to show them how to "stay committed" to a strict "health and fitness" regime, so that they know how to take care of their health when they get older.
She told Shape magazine: "It's important to me to show my children that I care about my health and fitness enough to stay committed. So when I'm in their room with them, I'll do some squats. When they ask what I'm doing, I'll say I'm getting my physical fitness in. And because they copy everything I do, the next time they pick up a heavy bag they'll say, 'I'm getting my workout in.'
"It's a value I want to instil in my kids at an early age - that paying attention to your body is mandatory. Whether it's putting my sunscreen on or doing push-ups, it's not just me taking care of myself but also helping me shape my daughters."
It isn't just their bodies the 'Frozen' star wants her children to be tune with, as she recently revealed she has cut down on using the phrase "it's OK" around her brood, because she thinks t "shuts down" their ability to express emotions.
Kristen explained: "I do really like reevaluating how much we say to them, 'It's OK,' because it weirdly shuts down their ability to have emotions.
"Because they think, 'It's OK. I shouldn't be embarrassed. I shouldn't be sad.' So now when they get sad or embarrassed, I say, 'That's a stinky feeling, huh? I've felt it, too.' I just let them experience it, and hopefully it'll make healthy adults."
The 'Bad Moms' actress also revealed how the so-called "one finger rule" has helped her to raise her two children.
She added: "The one finger rule was something I really enjoyed.
"They said, 'Let your toddler experience things.' Like, 'I wanna touch that vase!' Rather than always saying, 'No,' you say, 'Let's do it! Let's do one finger.' So, my toddlers go around and touch everything with one finger."
