Liam feels awkward and says one of them should be opening the factory. Carla and Liam pull up outside the factory, as Maria approaches Carla tells him to think fast. Liam lies and tells her they have been out for breakfast. Maria tells him she wants them to register the baby's death. Liam agrees. They set off together, very distant and not knowing what to say to each other.
At the factory Liam is deep in thought at his desk. Carla comes over and says she is going home. She drops a key to her flat in front of Liam, he doesn't touch it. Carla tells him they are right for each other and that he knows where she is. She bends down to kiss him but he shakes his head. She leaves him lost in his thoughts.

Anna and Tina argue after Anna calls David a criminal and Tina admits to her mother about the baby. The argument esculates and Gail wastes no time in throwing Anna out.
