'Dancing On Ice' bug

5 months ago 07th Feb 13:00

The stars of 'Dancing On Ice' have been struck down by an "infectious" bug.

Contestants Gareth Gates and former tennis ace Greg Rusedski have been left so ill they are unable to train for the ITV reality ice-dancing show.

Now bosses have had to quarantine them as they're worried they will "cross-infect" their fellow stars.

A show source said: "Gareth and Greg both became poorly yesterday (06.02.08) and we're all crossing our finger they will recover for the live show on Sunday (10.02.08).

"Sometimes the bug lasts 24 hours, sometimes three days and leaves you feeling very weak.

"It's important we stop anyone else going down with it. It's really infectious so we're doing everything we can to keep the contestants apart so they can't cross-infect."

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby, who co-hosts the show with Phillip Schofield, is reportedly set to sign a £5 million deal which will keep her at ITV until 2010.
