Criminal Minds - A Real Rain

03-01-2007 09:21

The team race against time to stop a vigilante killer who is targeting acquitted criminals.

A serial killer is on the loose in Manhattan, and the BAU have flown in to help with the case.

A 30-year old man, a 24-year-old woman and, most recently, an older cab driver have all been found shot dead, stabbed in the ear and blindfolded.

There are no witnesses, as the murders occurred at night, and there appear to be no links between the victims – which raises the unsettling possibility that the killer may well continue to evade capture.

After examining the last two crime scenes, the team realise that these murders are not unplanned ‘blitz’ attacks, but highly organised executions carried out by someone with a desperate need to perform a specific ritual over and over again until he gets it right.

“In other words,” says Gideon grimly, “he’s not going to stop until we catch him.”

Hotchner agrees, adding: “If this guy’s who we think he is, we’re talking terror like New York hasn’t seen since [serial killer David Berkowitz, AKA] Son of Sam.”
