Everton football club has faced criticism on whether to move to new ground

10 months ago 05th Dec 10:35

Bill Kenwright faced criticism at the club's meeting over plans to move to a new stadium in Kirkby.

Shareholders accused the club of not properly exploring other sites.

Mr Bill Kenwright, was accused of being the man who murdered the soul of Everton.

But he insisted he was looking at all the options available to the club, including staying at Goodison Park.

Feelings have been running high for months as Everton have entered into discussions with Tesco and the authorities in Kirkby - significantly outside the city boundaries - over a new home for the team.

And Mr Kenwright said that if the Kirkby plan does not happen, Everton have a contingency plan of reconsidering a redevelopment plan Goodison Park.

Liverpool City Council has also suggested an alternative site close to the city centre on Scotland Road.
