India trail England by 31 runs at lunch

Cricket Mohali, Latest: March 12 (ians) Resuming on an overnight score of 149/4, India added 120 runs to take their first innings score to 269/7 at lunch in the second Test against England here Sunday.

India began the day losing wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (16), after he had added a couple of runs to his Saturday score.

Captain Rahul Dravid (95) and Irfan Pathan (52) put on a 76-run partnership that was the highlight of the morning session before the former fell to England captain Andrew Flintoff.

Pathan departed soon after, also falling to Flintoff.

Anil Kumble (10) and Harbhajan Singh (7) were unbeaten at lunch. India now trail England's first innings score by 31 runs with a day and a half of play left in the match.
