Zara Phillips' internet advert

2 months ago 15th Jul 14:00

Britain's Zara Phillips has become the first member of the royal family to appear in an internet advert.

The 27-year-old - who is twelfth in line to the throne - stars in a clip designed to promote the UK equestrian eventing team ahead of next month's Beijing Olympics.

Despite having pulled out of the games, Zara became the face of the campaign through her role as an ambassador for Land Rover, the official vehicle of the British Eventing Team.

In the advert, Zara - Equestrian World Champion - is seen leading her horse by a football pitch.

That's a lovely horse, and you're not too bad yourself.

One of the players stops to chat to her, saying, "That's a lovely horse, and you're not too bad yourself."

He then claims there is no skill in horse riding and that it is not a real sport like football, adding, "Horse does all the work, you just sit there and look pretty. To me it's all about skill, baby, know what I mean?" The clip ends with Zara's horse sneezing on the man.

Zara - the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth - was forced to withdraw from the Olympic team after her horse, Toytown, suffered an injury.
