How the Clearblue Fertility Monitor works
The Monitor measures two hormones to identify your ‘High’ and ‘Peak’ fertility days - estrogen and Luteinising Hormone (LH). When estrogen reaches a critical level it causes a rapid rise in the level of LH – the LH surge – which in turn causes the release of an egg from an ovary. This is ovulation and occurs approximately 24-36 hours after the LH surge. The Clearblue Fertility Monitor is 99% accurate in detecting the LH surge in laboratory tests.
