Barb Jungr

Barb Jungr has generated international acclaim for her distinctive vocals and live performances.

Her powerful reinterpretations of Bob Dylan’s work have generated stellar praise via her album The Man In The Long Black Coat.

On Saturday 1 December, London audiences have a one-off opportunity to hear Barb's signature take on Dylan at Canada Water Culture Space at Canada Water Library.

Renowned for her passionate singing, minimal and subtle arrangements and great onstage humour, Barb Jungr has been described by Billy Bragg as 'possibly our best interpreter of Dylan’s songs'.

He is not alone in this view, after captivating US audiences, the legendary New York newspaper The Village Voice said the following:

"The Manchester born and London-based chanteuse is one of the best interpreters of Jacques Brel and Bob Dylan anywhere on this angst ridden planet today. Always beautifully sung and profoundly acted. Even the patter is pithy."

As if this wasn't enough, the album received excellent reviews in the Times, Telegraph, Sunday Times and Independent. The Observer commented "I just hope Dylan himself has a listen and starts writing for her direct."

Recently featured on BBC Radio 4's Midweek programme and a frequent guest on BBC London 94.9, Barb Jungr's credentials also include ongoing work in theatre as a writer and lyricist for companies such as Birmingham Stage Company and the Little Angel Theatre.

In the meantime Barb Jungr Sings Dylan at Canada Water Culture Space presents a rare opportunity to hear this critically acclaimed artist sing Dylan's classic songs in her warm and inimitable style.
