In Wednesday's Daily rap Ne-Yo begins work on third album, Eminem back in studio, Jadakiss working on debut record and Lil Wayne cut show short due to violence.
R&B singing sensation Ne Yo is hard at work on his third Def Jam album. Having delivered two stellar projects so far since he burst onto the scene in 2005, the Las Vegas native is certain that he will keep the attention on him with this project.
Tentatively titled Year of the Gentleman, the album is said to fuse certain genres together, urban, pop and soul.
Ne Yo has been writing for many of the A List celebrities including Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston as well as commandeering his own singing career.
He embarks on a tour next month with Alicia Keys and American idol winner Jordin Sparks. The first single from the album called Closer hit the radios on Monday night in the US.
After pictures circulated the internet of Detroit's Eminem packing a few extra pounds, reports have emerged that the rapper is hard at work in the gym getting back into shape.
He is also said to be working in the studio with label boss and mentor, Dr Dre on tracks for his next album.
No date or solid info has been disclosed in regards to the release of this album, however it has been speculated for a late 2008 or early 2009 release.
The Yonkers rapper Jadakiss who signed with Rocafella/Def Jam last month is hard at work on his first album on the label assured Director of A&R Lenny S.
The album which is said to be very street orientated features a track which is written as a letter to the Notorious BIG, describing what has actually gone on since the rapper was shot and killed eleven years ago.
The album is expected in late Spring early Summer.
Performing to a packed out Stratford Rex earlier this week in London's East End, Lil Wayne had o cut his show short after violence erupted. An estimated six fights broke out close to the stage where the Cash Money Millionaire was performing and then as he was leaving the stage items were thrown including bottles.
The rapper was praised by members of the crowd who said he gave a great performance and the majority of fans were disappointed that the show had to be cut short.
