Karl Lagerfeld has defended the fashion industry over size zero models by saying they are not to blame for eating disorders.
During an interview with Hong Kong's Prestige magazine the designer said he would not enter the debate about skinny models because he thinks the problem of obesity is a bigger issue.
"This is a subject I won't discuss. You know why? In France there are a large percentage of young girls who are overweight and less than one percent are skinny," he said.
"So let's talk about the 25 percent who have a weight problem, or are overweight. We don't need to discuss the less than one percent. Anorexia is nothing to do with fashion," he added.

Unkle Karl has a point...for all the eating disorder talk, the childhood obesity (and just general obesity) epidemic gets worse every year.
