Former Topshop brand director Jane Shepherdson has signed to ethical clothing brand People Tree.
Shepherdson is credited with turning around the high street brand into the trendy high street emporium that we know today.
She was at Topshop for fifteen years until she resigned amid rumours that she fell out with Philip Green when he hired Kate Moss to design her own clothing range.
Fashion united reported that Shepherdson made a thinly veiled dig at Topshop when she questioned the longetivity of ‘ fast fashion.’
"We should always question if something is very, very cheap and think that if you, the consumer, aren’t paying for it, then someone, somewhere down the line is paying.”
She added:"People Tree is an incredible company, completely committing to producing good quality, fair trade clothing."
Celebrity fans of People Tree include Sienna Miller and Gwyneth Paltrow.
