When it comes to clothes British shoppers love to splash out and we are the second biggest spenders in Europe according to new research.
Each person in the UK spends an average of £556 on clothes every year says the report by Verdict market analysts.
Fashion loving Italians are not suprisingly top of the list but the UK are fast catching up.
As the average Italian spend goes down from £622 to £602 over the last five years the British figure is up by £38.
The 10 EU member states spent a whopping £7.7 billion on clothes in the last year.
A Verdict spokesman said: "The EU's population is finding more attractive alternatives to spend its hard-earned cash on than clothing, and competition between the various clothing retailers of Europe is intensifying."
Inditex, the owners of Zara, are cashing in the most with H&M and Marks and Spencers following close behind.
