Sex and the City: The Movie, The Fashion

The eagerly awaited Sex and the City film is released this May. Fans are not just waiting to see what has happened in the lives of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte but also the return of the much loved eccentric fashion.

When Sex and the City was on our screens it was not just the storylines that women tuned in for but also the fashion. Never before had a TV show created so many trends - flower corsages, prom dresses, aviators, bold colours and the much loved Manolo's.

The pressure is on for the new film to showcase just as much head-turning fashion. Patricia Fields has reprised her role as stylist to the film and from the hoards of photo's coming from the set of the new film, she certainly hasn't lost her touch.

Samantha is still wearing her bold coloured structured suits for work, Miranda is looking more glamourous and feminine, Charlotte is still wearing prim dresses and Carrie is on trend with floral dresses and over the knee socks!

The characters have kept to their usual style but the looks have been brought up to date. Samantha's suits are clinched in with patent leather belts. Carrie's floral dresses are accessorised with embellished belts and shoes adding a grittier edge. The metallic trend has also made its way into the girls wardrobe. The much loved flower corsage is also back with a vengence. Carrie is seen walking down a New York street with an outrageously sized flower corsage pinned onto her white dress.

The film has made sure its followed some of the Spring/Summer trends. Photo's of Carrie's wedding showed each bridesmaid in a brightly coloured romantic style ruffled dress. Ruffles and bright colours are key trends for next season.

And of course the actresses are back in their sky high stilletto heels. The film would not be complete without them.
