There will be plenty of blockbuster movies flying around this summer but X-Men: First Class is one in particular that I'm looking forward to.
Having been attached to an X-Men project in the past Matthew Vaughn is finally in the director's chair as he takes the franchise back to the beginning.
And to tell the tale of the early days of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr the director has assembled one hell of an impressive cast.
Old friends, and later enemies, Charles and Erik are played by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender - two of the most exciting young actors around at the moment.
And they are supported by Jennifer Lawrence. Rose Byrne, January Jones, Kevin Bacon and Nicholas Hoult.
X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events.
Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time.
Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon.
In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
X-Men: First Class is released 1st June. Here is the new international trailer for the movie:
