Daphne Blake

Daphne Blake

Daphne Blake is our undisputed style queen of this year, and in years gone by. After all who could fail to love her 60s retro style, opposite the other members of the Scooby Doo gang?

Her cute purple shift dress, pink tights and lilac headband have earned her the status as a style icon over the years, and in the newer adventures of What's New Scooby Doo? she's shown to be a lot more concerned about her fashion sense.

Often portrayed as a damsel in distress, 'Danger Prone Daphne' won us over very early on in the series, with her constant quips about her hair getting wet and a certain attraction to Fred Jones.

Their on-off romance was at the core of the cartoon TV series, and it was a suitable pairing considering Fred is probably just as vain as Daphne, we mean, have you see his quaffed hair-do?!

Despite their obvious chemistry, nothing in the cartoon version ever came of it, whilst in the big movie adaptation of Scooby Doo, they have at least a little snog or two.

We weren't huge fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar's take on our Daphne, playing her as a little dumb, but was also miraculously good at beating up big heavy men too, which didn't really ring true to us.

Daphne would have blinded him with her mirror or something, but never mess her hair up in a brawl!

She is also considered to be the third most popular Scooby Doo character, losing out only to Scooby Doo and Shaggy. With 60s fashion making a huge comeback next year, perhaps it's time we all sat down and took some style tips from this flame-haired beauty.
