Orchid, the UK’s male cancer charity is delighted to announce former Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash has confirmed he will be participating in OrchidTrek Peru (30th April - 10th May 2011).
Taking place exactly 100 years after the magical city of Machu Picchu was discovered, the trek will raise money for the charity and offer adventurous fundraisers the opportunity of a lifetime.
Pat, and a group of fundraisers will go an incredible journey through the land of the Incas to raise awareness of male cancer and raise money for Orchid.
Walking in the footsteps of American historian Hiram Bingham who uncovered the city of Machu Picchu 500 years after it had been abandoned; trekkers will follow a rarely used Inca highway, through some of the most stunning scenery in the world, before concluding in the lost city of Machu Picchu - Peru’s most famous ruin.
Pat Cash comments: "This trip is a huge personal challenge for me. It’s going to be an incredible adventure and I’m looking forward to going on the journey with Orchid supporters.
"It will be a life-changing adventure for us and it’ll be life-changing for those men we help in the fight against male cancer. I call on those with an adventurous streak to sign up and take part and join me on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure."
