This week it's a Mental Health Awareness special!

The great thing about podcasts is how conveniently simple they are to consume – you could be driving, cooking, working out – they require no visual engagement. All you need is a handy device to listen on, and you can go about your daily life listening to whatever you enjoy.

From crime to comedy, history to health, there’s something for everyone in the wonderful world of audio programmes.

Since it’s Mental Health Awareness Week we wanted to promote the podcasts that are contributing to getting people talking about the struggles a lot of face every day.

And when we looked, we realised there are so many we couldn’t pick just one! So, here are our top picks for podcasts if you’re looking for a listen to help understand, accept and improve your mental health.

She hosts Pretty Big Deal. Joined by different celebrities, she discusses culture, beauty, and owning who you are. Serena Williams, Amy Schumer and Kim Kardashian West are just some of the guests that join Ashley in the first series of Pretty Big Deal.

The Naked Professors

We already covered the Naked Professors in our Podcast of the Week series, but we just had to give them a mention on this list because the work that they do to get people talking about mental health is so important and relevant.
