This Is It
Michael Jackson's documentary movie This Is It has already grossed more that $2.2 in the U.S. on the opening day.
The film received it's global release on Tuesday night as premiers were held simultaneously around the world.
The movie is a rare glimpse into the final days of Michael Jackson, the documentary is compiled from an estimated 80 hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage of the legendary entertainer preparing for his 50 sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena that were scheduled to commence in July 2009 before his untimely death in June at age 50.
The footage was filmed at The Forum and the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.
The movie is currently playing in ninety seven countries around the world and looks set to be a huge box office success.
A group of Michael Jackson fans had tried to boycott the movie insisting that the late star was overworked by promoters AEG Live while he was putting his series of shows at the O2 in London together in America.
But fans have flocked to cinemas to catch one last look at the King of Pop.
