NICKELBACK frontman CHAD KROEGER credits the band's success with saving him from a life of crime.
The 31-year-old singer and rhythm guitarist, who formed the band in the small Canadian town of Hanna, is convinced he would have ended up stealing cars or dealing drugs if the band failed to hit the big time in Vancouver.
He says, "I honestly think if Nickelback hadn't worked out, I'd be in jail, on a charge of grand theft auto or trafficking."
Meanwhile the NICKELBACK frontman has filed a lawsuit to stop the band's ex- drummer RYAN VIKEDAL for continuing to collect royalties.
Kroeger claims fellow Canadian Vikedal, who was kicked out of the band for undisclosed reasons in January (05), agreed to return the payments he had received since his departure, but has failed to do so, and is still making money from Nickelback songs including HOW YOU REMIND ME.
The 31-year-old singer has filed a British Columbia Supreme Court statement which cites him as the main creator of the band's songs and demands his publishing company Arm Your Dillo be awarded sole copyright for the band's three albums.
