As part of its expanded Industry programme, The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival is delighted to welcome back Think-Shoot-Distribute, an elite talent development initiative for emerging filmmakers in association with Skillset and Film London, and sponsored by Adobe and The Hospital.
The intensive five-day programme will unite 28 emerging producers, screenwriters, directors and writer/directors with leading international film professionals for a series of workshops and masterclasses exploring the creative, technical and business aspects of the international feature film industry.
On completion, participants will join the prestigious network of over 100 Think-Shoot-Distribute alumni who meet bi-monthly at the BFI Southbank.
The programme will open with a career retrospective and Q&A with key-note speaker and award-winning director Atom Egoyan (Where the Truth Lies, Adoration). Following this, novelist and screenwriter David Nicholls (Starter for 10, and When Did You Last See Your Father?) will discuss writing for the screen, while expert storyboard artist Temple Clark (The Golden Compass, The Da Vinci Code) will lead a workshop on the art of storyboarding.
In addition, London Film Festival programmer Michael Hayden will be joined by Oscar®-winning film producer/marketing consultant and Film Londons Microwave Production Executive, Mia Bays (Scott Walker 30 Century Man, Shifty) for a masterclass on festival strategy for filmmakers.
There will also be discussions on film financing - led by Dean Spanley producer Alan Harris - and film development, with script editor Kate Leys (K). Other areas under focus include casting, working with actors, production design, line producing, low and micro budget production, and the business of sales and distribution.
