John Hurt was only allowed to see the script for the latest 'Indiana Jones' film for five hours.
Hurt, who plays Indiana Jones' colleague Professor Oxley, insisted on a read-through before he would sign up to appear in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', but was only allowed to see the script briefly.
Hurt said: "It turned out to be rather an expensive read. It had to be hand-delivered from Hollywood. A courier dropped it off at three and picked it up at eight. He was probably outside with an eye on the front door during that time. It was cops and robbers stuff. And it's all to make Mr Lucas an extra billion, as if he needs it."
The film's makers, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, are so secretive over the film, none of the cast have been allowed to discuss their roles or its content.
However, Hurt did reveal his character has a fight scene involving the daredevil archaeologist.
He said: "Harrison Ford does all his own fights. And I should know, I was in one of them."
'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' opens in cinemas from May 23.
