Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs stampeded to the top of the UK box office ending Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's two week reign at the top of the chart.
The film, which sees characters Manny, Sid and Diego all return for a third time, grossed over £7.6 million in it's opening weekend, continuing the franchise's success.
There was another new entry in at two as Johnny Depp returned to the big screen as American bank robber and folk hero John Dillinger in Michael Mann's Public Enemies.
Despite mixed review Public Enemies has done well in both the UK and the U.S. and is the first movie for Depp since Sweeney Todd back in January 2008.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had to be content with third spot after two weeks at the top grossing a further £2.2 million. The movie has now grossed $ 20 million in the UK alone.
There was a two week fall for comedy The Hangover moving from two to four, but the top four movies all broke the £1 million barrier.
My Sister's keeper rounded off the top five falling one place from four.
There was another new entry as Bollywood movie Kambakkht Ishq opened at number seven.
